Timothy Brookman is a Senior Vice President of AltaView and is located in the firm’s New York office. He has extensive experience working with a broad range of businesses ranging in size from small private companies to multi-billion dollar enterprises.

 

Timothy’s particular practice areas include tax planning and compliance, financial reporting, corporate and succession planning, and transaction advisory. Within tax planning and compliance, he has experience performing valuations for trust and estate matters including valuations of closely held businesses and illiquid securities. Timothy's financial reporting experience includes valuations conforming to ASC 350, ASC 360, ASC 718, ASC 805, and ASC 820. Timothy’s clients come to him to solve unique and complex valuation issues, particularly for transactions that may be subject to high levels of scrutiny.

• Discounts for lack of control and lack of marketability

• Second-level (or tiered) discounts

• Restricted securities (Rule 144, insider stock, blockage discounts)

• Intangible assets (trademarks, customer relationships, technology, and non-compete agreements) and goodwil

Prior to joining AltaView, Timothy was a Manager with RSM US LLP. Prior to this position, Timothy was a Senior Associate with Management Planning Inc., a valuation firm serving New York and the Northeast.
